I have a secret. It’s not earth-shattering or anything.

The secret is simple: I quit watching NYPD Blue when Jimmy Smits’ character, Bobby Simone, died. It was cause for an entire night’s worth of crying, one of the few times I did so at a television program.

So why am I mentioning that here? Because every time I write or reference a certain character in Amaranth, I see Jimmy Smits as him — and I’m quite fine with that. Jimmy Smits for Val Drake!

Now I just need to come up with ideas for who I would love to see play the other characters.
